Blonde Bash 4 : Trip Report

Friday

Boy do i run bad, the day of the bash i set off to pick up ChipRich from Bilton and somewhere between setting off and getting to his house something happened to my car. And i soon realised that when the car is put into reverse the back right wheel wasnt moving backwards, simply dragging along the floor! After going to a few garages to ask if it could be looked at to no luck, i was advised not to drive it. So we had to wait until The_Gib finished work to see if he could take his. It turned out he could, and after a quick stop for some petrol and beers, we were on route.

The route to Luton is pretty simple, I bagged shotgun early and chilled with some tunes and cold bevvies. We had a comedy drive down and Horneris ripped the piss out of pretty much everyone we drove past. We turned off to Luton and found the hotel pretty fast and went in to ask where the car park was, of course the first person we see is Mr. Colchester Kev himself, Vodka + Coke in hand and exclaiming to the room that the ''Happy shopper gel wearing miners'' are here, after which the whole room of 50 or so broke into laughter.

We met with Sunday8pm, Ferrari, Poppet, Leon and Rainbow to go hit the casino for a few pints before shipping out to some clubs later on. Sunday and Ferrari were a great pair, shipping the bevvies in from the off, and after 4-5 pints and a 'shortie' (Perno+black) a great drink that nearly made Horneris throw up, we were off to Chicago's.

We got in there and saw Tighty, Claw75, Tantrum, RookieITB, ITB, ChippieLeicester and the ITB crew after a few VRB's we were ready to go to the more Dance club next door. It was a decent club i thought and we got a table + sofa and shipped in more drinks. All i can really remember is a neon blue light somewhere. And next thing i know we are back at the casino with another pint in hand talking to various blondes. At this point Horneris and ChipRich bailed to bed, leaving Me, The_Gib, Sunday, Ferrari, LittleMissC and Londonpokergirl1 at the casino, we made our way back at about 5:30 and asked the taxi driver if anywhere was open for food...sadly it was not, and a bag of crisps at the hotel would have to be enough.

Saturday

I was intending to play the football this morning, but in LeKnave like fasion, i stayed in bed, and let Sunday, Ferrari, ChipRich, Horneris and The_Gib battle away to a vailiant 2nd of 3 finish.

I got out of bed around 12 i think, and made my way downstairs to catch the second half of Man U vs Everton. I felt pretty rough, and wasn't up for the poker torny later. I think its the first time i've ever not been up for poker in my life. Anyway, i had a few cokes and a burger, and felt a bit better.

I got off to an up and down start in the torny, i liked my table. I had a lot of passive players so employed a tactic of limping pre, then betting the flop, which took it down basically every time. I did however have 2 players i could have done without on the table. ITB and SuffolkPunch. These 2 pwned me pretty well, i had decided after hand 1 to stay away but still bluffed off about 1000 to ITB which i won back off SuffolkPunch in a pretty scary hand:

I held [4h 6h] and limped pre, he limped behind me, and the flop came down [Jh 6c 3h]
I bet out 200, which he called and we were HU. The turn came a [Qd] i decided i was going to c/r him all in here, i checked, and he bet out 500, the amount i figured he would, i shoved for 2100. I felt this bet looked very strong. And he would have to fold a JX, which i had him on...and if he somehow calls, i have a few heart balls to catch. He dwelled for ages and gave me the stare. I felt i looked so weak when he did this, but he did infact fold. He ended up busto'ing me with 77 on a [7h 8h 3h] when i decided to gamble for a big pot with [Ac Kh] I missed the heart, and went to rail gibbo then start the HU torny.
Our first HU round had us pinned at 2-2 with me playing the deciding match, i came through to beat MiamiVic in a cooler (flush vs 2 pr). Then it was dejavu in round 2, this time i was against the well respected AndrewT. And after losing a 2K pot in hand 1 when he caught a 5 outer on the river that i decided it would be a good idea to pay off! I played the HU pretty poorly and deserved to lose, the final blow with him 3/1 up in chips. He had been raising OOP wheneve r i limped on the button, so i limped with 99 on the button, he duely raised and i pushing, he insta-called and i knew it could be trouble, he flipped Ah Qh and the Ac fell in the window. So no back to back title for the jocks and miners :-( Despite the failings of 4 of our team at one point in the HU torn, the ever reliable Horneris owned both his HU matches to make him 6 for 6 at blonde bashes, the kids got a mean game baby, watch ur back...even owning celeb Dave ''Compo'' Compton in round one.

The_Gib and Horneris shortly busted and ChipRich was grinding with 2.5 BB's. lolo. Ferrari was also still in, winning nearly as many pots as perno+blacks he had drunk. I was pretty nailed by this point and i dealt a few HU games, including one for Dave 'elblondie' Colclough himself. Then sat around with The_Gib and Swordpoker while he showed us some of his mind reading skills. Which were impressive to say the least. Horneris at this point was starting up a PLO8 sit and go, which took a record 3 hours to get done and he ground out a worthy 2nd place

In this time, somehow ChipRich went from 5K to 41K, he runs good. And was beginning to LAG it up with his ever growing chipstack. Each time i went over, he had more and more. He told me he played the FT bubble well and loved his table. Except the shark that is Ferrari. On the final there was a lot of action, and ChipRich always seemed to have the best of it. AA vs 88, AJ vs A7 etc. He spiked a 2 outer with 88 vs QQ to send another packing then got down to 3 handed, where he flopped a set which he played very slow and managed to trap tank for all his stack. It got HU where he had a huge CL, so he refused to deal with Ferrari. Ferrari began to show his experience and ground Rich down enough that Rich chopped £1200 each with £400 going to the victor. Rich eventually came out on top, with his AKo beating Ferrari's Kh Qh, the board came a fun JXXT, so we had a big sweat for the river. But another T ended Ferrari's hopes.

He certainly got his 15 minutes of fame with a TV interview and all, make sure u look out for Tom Ferrari's interview on PokerWeek in 2 weeks time. He was nicely hammered and the bullshit was flowing from his mouth like a waterfall. Was great fun.

We went back to the hotel, despite 2 of our boys shipping £2800 between them we were too knackered to ball it up in some clubs after the friday. Despite sunday and ferrari being up for it, respect for those boys, they have stamina. We left the hotel bar at around 5am to get a few hours sleep before the trip home.

We all had a great weekend, roll on bB5 baby.

Ship it. Holla.

Update

I know its been a while since the last post and i apologise but we havent been out shipping it up balla style or shipping it crucially online since the last post.

We all had terrible March's online, Jones dropped about $3.5G and i wasnt too far behind dropping $2G's. God knows how much Rich lost.

Although its been better live. I took down a win at the Moortown G for nearly $600 and have also a few other final table finishes and Jonesy has come in the top 3 a couple of times winning over $800 in total.

Jonesy also shipped home $1.35k by winning a 360 plyr $16.50 on stars last night. SHIP THAT BEEYOTCH.

As for me, my whole bankrolls going on stars now. Ill be playing STTs, some MTTs, some satellites, accuring FPPs and hoping and praying on an April to remember. Ill be playing under the alias "Horneris". Im sick of fiddling around with 6/8 different sites, and not knowing where all my cash is and where iv lost it.

Out. x

Everybody's grinding...

It really is quiet on the ShipitStandard front with Horneris hooked up in his beloved Cheltenham till Saturday, ChipRich vigourously grinding the $3.40 sngs after another BR crushing session at the $60's. And im hitting the $11's on party, striving bit by bit to grind a good bankroll for october.

So far after a few days play im winning just over $300 from the $11's and am starting to 6 table them, il probably do that solid for a few weeks then move up to the $22's when my BR on party hits $2K.

Its just a shame i pwned the whole of my BlondePokerLeague bankroll on the roulette tables earlier today. I tried the Martingale system gambling on black, but fell short when 8 reds fell in a row. DOH!

There will be an announcement shortly of the 4th balla to come aboard...

Remember kids, grinding is fun...

LeKnave's 19th

7 set out at 6.15 for a few bevvys in tad before the 8:20 bus into york...

We got into York just in time to ship ourselves some 2 for 1 cocktails in Montys, not that it mattered to Lekky+Chip, due to their ballaness, but the rest of the noobs wanted the deal. We caned a few back their and holla'd at a few nice birds.

We then shot off to the nags head for triples for singles...again didnt really matter about the deal due to our shipitholla'ness. We shipped a few triple vodka red bulls in + launched outside to pwn them. It was fking freezing, but we didnt care due to our hardcore balla'ness. On the way out Chip was complimented by a heavenly bird on his superior looks+dress sense, he could've easily got some nailage but decided to just holla at them and launch off.

Next was the stone roses indie bar for some random bevvy's, me and chip pwned some shots, as u do and chilled in there for a while, then when i was off to the toilet a sickening incident occured...i walked up the stairs + this sick banister decided to pwn my shirt, hooked inside a button and ripped every button i had done up off, i was pretty hammered so it looked like some sort of magic trick + i looked down and my shirt was fully undone...luckily sam shipped me his jumper to cover up my heavenly body against the ladies protests.

Finally laura shipped all these subway vouchers out her bag so we balla'd it to subway + got about 10 subs between us, which we destroyed, with the help of tim+nick who decided to show up at the end of the night.

We then holla'd a taxi down + he launched us bk to tad so we shipped him £25 for the £18 taxi ride, just because we can. We got home and decided to have a hammered game of HU for £50 Chip pwned me 2 games str8 when i shipped blind in the first hand of game 1. And with T4o into his limped KK, followed by running Kh6h into AdKd in game 2, so so sick.

Got a fair few bevvys purchased for me, so losing £100 in HU games vs the Chipster didnt matter too much.

holla for a dolla 1-time.

Peace out.

Exciting Times Ahead

The Ship it Standards have today finalised a deal which will see us moving in together into the Ship it Standard Mansion, in Towton, in October 2007.

The 3 of us and another poker playing friend, James Moody, will be grinding it out as pros and partying and living out our dreams. Exciting times ahead indeed for the crew.

Lets hope we succeed.

In the 7 months from now until then, its time to build a decent bankroll.

The Horneris v LeKnave Challenge

Not much to report on the results front. Did lift $1200 off party cash tables in 3 days but given pretty much half that back now the deposit luckbox swing has ended.

But, I have a challenge for LeKnave. We each play the $25 and $50 multis on DTD 20 times each and only the first 20 results count.

The winner is the one with the most profit from them apres 20.

The winner gets 5 bottles of dom (or beers) from the other (so is pretty much freerolling for a night out in tad or york).

Will he accept? Starting tonight.

The Crew

At the moment there are 4 members of Team Ship It. Standard. but we want bring a few new young hotshots on board though. Maybe we can meet some of u potential SIS's at the new DTD club in Nottingham when it opens.

Dave 'LeKnave' Jones
Name: Dave Jones
Alias: LeKnave
Age: 18
I began my journey through this sick game in early 05 thanks to some persuasion from Horneris, i loved it from day 1. It was finally something i wanted to excell at and made a heavenly change to going to lessons at college. I started playing NLHE cash games with change in the cafe with about 10 others all ante'ing 10p. And i found the beauty of online poker. I deposited under my Dads name as, at 17 i was still too young to play. I immediately begin to succeed...then i thought i was god, as most do. But soon found out this was infact, not the case. I found myself $400 down from depositing slyly with his card! Luckily it was a card he never used, so it went unnoticed!
When i turned 18, i couldn't set up my own account fast enough and began shipping it from day 1. Playing $3/6 with no idea how to play really, and $50 HU sit and goes. It was all going to go wrong! Then when i lost my $1000 BR on Pacific in a few days i was pretty crushed, and the grind started over again.
Those were the days, now having finished school in a year out before uni, i am a full time poker player, i don't like it when people use the term professional, i think i am far from a professional.
To begin i'll be smashing the shit out of mtt's crushing 20-30 a day in the search of some sick wins. This is a strategy i have employed this year and am in profit for over $9000 in the short start of the year. Should be more, but i decide its good for me to donate money in $5/10 and $3/6. Probly stuck around $2K in cash this year!
But the serious mtt grind begins here. holla it up bitches, peace out.

Brent 'Horneris' Horner
Name: Brent Horner
Alias: Horneris
Age: 20
I started pwning poker at college in late 04 and ripping apart the cash games daily, often taking home £20 or more. Made a lot of decent tournament cashes in 06 and paid for my holiday to Tenerife, computer etc, but never really got serious. This year, im at Uni in Sheffield studying Poker, lol, and Ive already made over $8,000 in just under 6 weeks (been skiing for 9 days) and have won over $800 on Party Poker cash in the last 3 days alone. Gona start playing NL 100 and 200 a lot and using poker tracker to record my results professionally.
Also gona play a lot of the bigger tourns on sites such as Stars and Crypto, such as the Sunday Warm up and Sunday Million etc...hopefully Ship home some massive cashes. Pwned Dariominieri today in the Warm Up. Hoping to ship home at least $50,000 this year (secretly more), so i can start moving up to the higher limits by 08, and then becoming a true balla playing medium-high stakes cash games and building a huge roll and destroying Vegas in 2009 (when LeKnave's 21). Hopefully gona get some Balla trips sorted to Monte Carlo, London, Amsterdam etc for coke/hookers/blow later in this year/start of next year. hoLLa. The dream and the serious proffessional Grind Begins.

Rich 'ChipRich' Hare
Name: Rich Hare
Alias: ChipRich
Age:19
I was the high school dropout, not sure what to do with myself after school so i decided to finish education there instead of going on to college, this meant i didn't get to experience the action of the loose change cash games. I got introduced to the game by Horneris and his crew, who started to play home games. And we soon heard of a home game LeKnave ran and due to the lack of passion involved in LeKnave's game, LeKnave moved to join us.
I was instantly hooked, and hosted alternate games with LeKnave for the £5 home games. I decided to take the leap to the online scene and remained there in the early hours of the morning grinding $0.25/0.50 cash games with LeKnave, Horneris and Steelio (a fellow home game member).
I am classed as more of a notorious gambler when it comes to poker and will put it all on the line, i don't do BR management, just search for the big wins. Recently i found one, netting a $4.2K cash in the $15K GTD on stars. This result has BR'd me for now, and i can now be found crushing low buy in mtts and low stakes cash on Party and Stars.
my blogs should be the most exciting with BR swings that will make you fetch the bucket, I will aim to take u on a sick ride in my search to pwnpwnpwn.

Ok, first of all the picture will be coming soon(after bb4).

James 'JP' Moody
Name: James P Moody
Alias: Linux or Linuxmood
Age: 21
Ok, a little about James "JP" Moody. I was born in february 1986. I started playing poker properly about 4-5 months ago. It started with Horneris shipping me $7 with which i played lots of STT's and ran hot. I eventually went bust as STT runs dont last and you need a bit of a bankroll to play them not just two buy ins, lolo. I then deposited on stars and began the quest to find a game i could beat.
I think i finally have..... I am without a doubt the best 0.01/0.02 grinder in the world but i have ambitions to play medium stakes cash. I currently multi table NL 10 - NL25 but have been known to win a few pots at NL100. I am definitely a cash player and not an online tournament player, I seem to play better when i know what i am winning / losing.

Despite this i think i can become a good live tournament player especially after some dom (sainsburys basic cider)

So, now you know the background, but thats not important, the important bit is coming, the important bit, is now.

Team Ship It. Standard.

"A baller is a slang term for someone who has 'made it to the bigtime', or a person who is living a flashy luxurious lifestyle. It originated from inner city amateur athletes who made it to the professional leagues playing baseball or basketball. It is now commonly used to refer to a posh thug, pimp or gangster, or one who imitates this lifestyle. Ballers spend vast amounts of money on such things as champagne, classy restaurants, clubbing, jewellery, expensive cars, clothing, high-stakes poker and other forms of gambling. It is usually used to refer to men; they are portrayed as sharply-dressed, with beautiful women and rich taste''

Ok, so we may not actually be ballers yet, but hey, we are confident that we will have an impact on poker. 2007, has barely kicked off, and all 3 of us have had huge success in relation to the small stakes being played.

Its time to blow up the stake, and head for the big time...join us for the ride of a lifetime...Balla style.
